Privacy Policy

The categories of data Vero collects, why it uses them, and the privacy choices available to users.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Vero collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information when you use the Vero app and related services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account and profile information: phone number, sign-in identifiers, email if you provide one, first name, birthday, gender, dating preferences, profile content, support submissions, and settings.
  • Activity and communications: swipes, matches, messages, reports, purchases, subscriptions, and other in-app actions.
  • Device and usage information: device identifiers, IP address, app events, approximate location, precise location if you grant it, and notification tokens.
  • Verification and safety information: verification captures, facial geometry or face templates generated during verification, and related authenticity or safety signals. More detail appears in the Biometric Policy.

3. Where the Information Comes From

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you create or edit an account, use the service, contact support, or make a purchase;
  • automatically from your device and app usage; and
  • from service providers and platform partners involved in authentication, payments, subscriptions, analytics, safety, and support.

4. Why We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • create and maintain accounts and profiles;
  • provide matching, messaging, payments, subscriptions, and customer support;
  • run verification, investigate fraud or abuse, and enforce safety rules;
  • improve the service, measure performance, and troubleshoot issues; and
  • comply with legal obligations and protect users, Vero, and the public.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information:

  • to other users as part of the profile and messaging features you choose to use;
  • to service providers that help with hosting, storage, authentication, payments, subscriptions, analytics, communications, support, verification, and safety operations;
  • for legal process, law enforcement requests, safety incidents, fraud investigations, or other legal obligations; and
  • in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Vero does not sell personal information. Vero does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, complete transactions, enforce safety rules, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

In general:

  • active account information is kept while your account is open;
  • standard account-deletion requests are processed within about 90 days;
  • payment, tax, safety, fraud, and legal records may be kept longer where required or reasonably necessary; and
  • biometric retention and deletion are described separately in the Biometric Policy.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can update profile information in the app, control device permissions, opt out of analytics where offered, and delete your account from settings.

You can also send privacy requests to privacy@vero.dating. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain processing of your information, subject to applicable exceptions.

For California residents, Vero provides the rights generally described by California privacy law, including rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. Vero does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Sensitive and Biometric Information

Vero may process sensitive information such as precise location, dating-preference information, and biometric information used for verification and safety. The Biometric Policy contains the main notice for biometric collection, consent, use, retention, deletion, and disclosure.

9. Children

Vero is for adults only. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the service, and we remove underage accounts when identified.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
